Community Investment Management (CIM) is looking for an Client Solutions Senior Associate to join our team. CIM is a global institutional impact investment manager that provides strategic debt funding to scale and demonstrate responsible innovation in lending to underserved borrowers in the United States and emerging markets. Our work aims to advance financial inclusion by partnering with select tech-enabled lending partners, improve financial health and drive widespread adoption of such fintech innovation by the financial mainstream.

Position Summary

CIM is seeking an emerging impact investing and business development leader to join our NYC office on the Client Solutions team to support business development, fundraising initiatives, and investor relations. This new role will entail engaging with peers and investors within the impact investing community. The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal skills and is pro-active, organized, and detail-oriented. There should be a strong interest to learn more about credit markets, inclusive fintech and impact investing. The role will directly report to the Head of Strategy & Client Solutions in NYC.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivating relationships with institutional investors, consulting firms, and family offices allocating to impact and private credit investment strategies.
  • Supporting the Client Solutions team with reporting and other interaction with the firm’s limited partners and prospective limited partners.
  • Attending impact/investment conferences and events and participating in NYC office and firm events.
  • Participating in meetings/calls with limited partners and prospects.
  • Assisting in creating fundraising, business development, and IR deliverables including responses to LP queries, presentations, reports, due diligence questionnaires, data rooms, quarterly updates, annual letters, group updates, etc.
  • Assisting with IR/operational tasks and providing support to the broader firm as needed.
  • Updating and maintaining prospective and existing LP records in the firm’s CRM and liaising with various fund service providers
  • Traveling as needed.

Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 to 6 years of professional experience as part of the investment office of an endowment, foundation or other institutional investment firm or an investment fund with a focus on impact investing, preferably with some experience in financial inclusion.
  • Excited to work in a small, highly collaborative global team that is often in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Driven to engage and build community within impact investing.
  • Eager to learn about the firm’s focus on credit markets, financial inclusion, innovative fintechs, and impact investment management.
  • Experience with investment consultants and institutional investors such as endowments, foundations, and family offices.
  • Process-driven with attention to detail and good organizational skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative mindset, self-starter, and an exceptional work ethic.
  • High integrity, credibility, and clarity in communication.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work with different time zones at times of peak project flow.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace and willingness to learn other information platforms used by the organization (e.g., Salesforce/AltVia, Asana, etc.).

Compensation

For this position, we offer a competitive base salary in the range of $125,000 to $150,000 depending on qualifications and experience. In addition to the base salary employees are offered a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and retirement plans and are eligible for discretionary performance-based bonuses.
